The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office V – Bicol Region – Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) successfully handed over 172 tablets to the City and Municipal Links of Sorsogon during its ceremonial distribution at the NGC Compound, Provincial Capitol, Sorsogon City, last June 30, 2026.

Spearheaded by DSWD Bicol Regional Director Norman S. Laurio, with the strong support of the Provincial Operations Office of Sorsogon, the tablets will serve as a tool for digitalization, prioritizing faster data storage, a paperless process, and improved efficiency in case management.

Backed up by the distribution of Case Managers’ Handbooks, these interventions highlight the effort of the agency when it comes to improving the service delivery of the Angels in Red Vests toward its Pantawid beneficiaries.

In his message, RD Laurio stressed the importance of continuously enhancing Case Managers’ skills in order to amplify the program’s objectives and goals while making sure that every family is well taken care of on their way to self-sufficiency.

“𝙐𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙪𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮,” Laurio said.

Ms. Janice A. Mias, OIC/ML assigned to Magallanes, Sorsogon, expressed her gratitude to Secretary Rex Gatchalian, with whom she personally had a conversation during a Focused Group Discussion in Castilla, Sorsogon, for his prompt response to the team’s suggestion to transition from a paper-based and manual process to digitalization.

Ms. Mias added that as they train to familiarize themselves with the Enhanced Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) Tool incorporated into the tablets, it echoes their years-long dream since 2011 to innovate and ease their job deliverables through the help of technology.

“𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙗𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙮𝙖 [𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙩] 𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙞 𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙞 𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙖 𝙮𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙣𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙡, 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡-𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡-𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖 [4𝙋𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨].” Mias emphasized.

The systems reengineering of the program supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s agenda on ease of doing business by taking advantage of technology in supporting case management and championing innovative solutions to further serve Bicolano families.
