In celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office V – Bicol Region through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), partnered with the Local Government Unit of Uson in conducting the Womenโ€™s Month Celebration: Pugay Tagumpay cum Job Fair on March 13, 2026, at the Municipal Plaza in Barangay Poblacion, Uson, Masbate.

With the theme โ€œBabae at Komunidad: Serbisyo at Trabaho Fair,โ€ the activity highlighted the successful transition of 426 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program households toward self-sufficiency. The Pugay Tagumpay ceremony was conducted alongside a job fair to provide employment opportunities and support services for exiting beneficiaries as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Various private institutions participated in the job fair, including Two Peak Marketing, ARDCI, ASA, SAMA International, Palawan Pawnshop, MMS, Filminera Resources Corporation, and DMCI Masbate. The participating institutions provided orientations on pre-employment preparation, job opportunities, and mandatory employment requirements to guide the graduating Pantawid households.

National government agencies such as Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Social Security System (SSS) also joined the activity to present programs and services that can further assist the beneficiaries. The BBM Serbisyo team also facilitated the authentication of selected Pantawid beneficiaries during the event.

A key highlight of the activity was the formal endorsement of the case folders of the 426 exiting households to Municipal Mayor Hon. Felipe U. Sanchez and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Leah A. Barruga. The endorsement signifies the continued support of the local government to ensure that the graduating households sustain their self-sufficient level of well-being even after exiting the Pantawid Program.

In her message, MSWDO Barruga emphasized the role of families and communities in sustaining development gains, reminding participants that โ€œLakas ng pamilya, lakas ng komunidad.โ€ She also assured the beneficiaries that the local government will continue to provide opportunities and services to help improve their socio-economic condition.

The activity underscores the continuing commitment of DSWD Bicol, the LGU of Uson, partner institutions, and national government agencies in empowering women, strengthening families, and promoting inclusive development through sustainable programs and services beyond Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
