The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office V โ Bicol Region, through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), successfully conducted the Project Inclusive Microfinance Program for At-Risk Communities Through Training (IMPACT) Sensitization activity for program beneficiaries in the Municipality of Oas, Albay from March 23 to 26, 2026.
Under the leadership of Regional Director Norman S. Laurio, this three-day activity aimed to orient and engage a total of 248 4Ps beneficiaries across various barangays in Oas, ensuring their understanding of Project IMPACT and its relevance to their continued development. The initiative forms part of the programโs efforts to strengthen awareness, participation, and responsiveness among beneficiary households.
Earlier, on March 13, 2026, DSWD Bicol, through 4Ps, participated in a Training of Trainers conducted by the WFP. The session capacitated municipal links of the 4Ps program from the region on Project IMPACT, providing them with the knowledge and skills to effectively facilitate community-level sensitization activities. This preparation ensured that the subsequent sensitization sessions in Oas were delivered effectively, with clear, beneficiary-focused messaging.
Prior to the official rollout, a courtesy call was conducted with the Local Chief Executive of Oas by DSWD 4Ps personnel together with WFP representatives, highlighting the importance of strong local government support in the successful implementation of program initiatives.
The sessions utilized localized and beneficiary-friendly materials, including the IMPACT FAQs in Tagalog, to ensure clear understanding and meaningful participation among attendees.
Through this initiative, beneficiaries gained essential knowledge about Project IMPACT, including program processes, expectations, and available support mechanisms. The activity also reinforced collaboration among stakeholders and emphasized the role of informed beneficiaries in achieving sustainable program outcomes.
