LEGAZPI CITY – Undeniable smiles were seen among the Bulaneรฑos as they reunited with their fellow partner-beneficiaries of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program. The parents happily received their participation incentives for completing the 20-day tutoring and parenting sessions at the Bulan Freedom Park on July 9, 2026.
The payout activity was conducted through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V-Bicol Region and the Local Government Unit of Bulan, Sorsogon, ensuring the smooth and orderly release of incentives to the beneficiaries.
Running from May 11 to June 5, 2026, the program provided vital interventions parents and learners in Bulan, Sorsogon. In turn, it gathered the active support of 496 parents and guardians.
The parents’ participation went beyond simply dropping off and picking up their children. Along with their children, they attended daily parenting sessions that equipped them with practical knowledge on positive parenting and ways to better support their children’s learning.
Their commitment did not go unrecognized. In exchange for their time and effort, the program provided them with financial incentives to help support their children’s educational needs.
Parents received a daily attendance incentive of PHP 235, amounting to a total of PHP 4,700 upon completing the 20-day session. Overall, over PHP 2.2 million was distributed to the parent-beneficiaries in Bulan.
Several parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the program. One parent-beneficiary from Fabrica Elementary School shared that by the end of the sessions, her children had become more expressive.
