
Selected Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Parent Leaders participated in the 2026 Womenโs Month Celebration in the Municipality of San Fernando on March 16, 2026, highlighting the role of women as partners in community development and nation-building.
The activity, anchored on the theme โWe for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,โ gathered women for a day of learning, wellness, and empowerment. The celebration opened with a fun walk and Zumba session that promoted physical wellness, camaraderie, and solidarity among participants from various sectors.
The program proper featured a series of discussions from partner agencies and municipal offices. A representative from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) discussed the Magna Carta for Women, emphasizing the importance of protecting womenโs rights and promoting gender equality. The Municipal Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person discussed gender-fair treatment and inclusive community practices, while the DSWD Bicol – Sustainable Livelihood Program shared insights on gender and economic development and encouraged women to engage in livelihood opportunities.
The Municipal Accountant also shared practical advice on work-life balance, and the Municipal Health Officer discussed strategies for holistic health and wellness for women and their families. These sessions provided 4Ps Parent Leaders with knowledge and practical guidance on balancing family responsibilities, participating in community development, and exploring economic opportunities.
One Parent Leader shared that the activity helped strengthen her confidence as a mother and community leader, especially in balancing work and family responsibilities while participating in community activities.
To further support livelihood initiatives, 4Ps members and SLP associations showcased and sold locally made products during the activity, providing them with additional income opportunities while promoting their entrepreneurial skills.
The activity underscored the continuing efforts of the DSWD Bicol, through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Sustainable Livelihood Program, in empowering women through capacity-building, health and wellness activities, and livelihood support.
