The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 5 (DSWD FO 5), through its Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) and Municipal SWAD Action teams, provided relief assistance worth PHP 111,133.23 on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, to 13 families affected by separate fire incidents in the provinces of Albay and Camarines Sur.
13 residential houses were completely burned down, affecting 13 families due to separate fire incidents in the municipalities of Tinambac, Goa, Calabanga, and Naga City in the province of Camarines Sur, and in Tiwi, Albay.
The response team of DRMD and the respective DSWD Municipal SWAD action teams of these municipalities personally delivered the relief assistance to the affected families, who were temporarily seeking refuge with their relatives and in makeshift shelters they had constructed.
Each family received two Family Food Packs (FFPs) containing 6 kilograms of rice, 10 canned goods, 5 sachets of coffee, and 5 sachets of cereal drink, enough to sustain a family of 5 for 2 days.
They also received non-food relief items, including sleeping kits, family kits, hygiene kits, kitchen kits, 10-meter laminated sacks, and two 6-liter gallons of mineral water. These fire incidents occurred from June 30 to July 2, 2024.
Aside from this relief assistance, the affected families will also receive financial assistance worth PHP 10,000.00 through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the department.
