San Fernando, Camarines Sur — In response to the tragic, heartbreaking and senseless violence which claimed the life of two women in Naga City, Camarines Sur, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V – Bicol Region swiftly extended its support to the grieving family.

On December 7, 2025, the local police authorities found the lifeless bodies of a 27-year-old woman and her 25-year-old sister who was a former 4Ps monitored child in Barangay Conception Pequeña, Naga City, Camarines Sur. According to the reports the incident occurred in a boarding house in the aforementioned address.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) have launched a full-scale manhunt operation to track down the alleged suspect.

Upon learning of the incident, DSWD Bicol Regional Director Norman S. Laurio immediately mobilized the SWAD Camarines Sur, Crisis Intervention Section (CIS) – Naga City, and the assigned 4Ps Municipal Link to conduct a home visit to the victims’ family in San Fernando, Camarines Sur to deliver immediate psychosocial and material assistance.

The SWAD Camarines Sur immediately conducted a home visit to San Fernando town together with the Crisis Intervention Section (CIS)-Naga City Satellite Office, and the 4Ps Municipal Link.

The DSWD Social workers provided psychosocial intervention to the family, particularly to victims’ parents, grandfather and siblings to help them cope with the shock and trauma caused by the incident.

In addition, the department extended technical assistance to facilitate the release of funeral aid, aimed to augment with the financial burden and burial costs brought about by the tragic loss.

DRMD Head Claudio Villareal Jr., provided psychosocial support to victims’ mother.
