In order to maximize the impact of its social protection programs and initiatives, the Department of Social Welfare and Development has adopted convergence strategy which prevails the ideal mechanism that must be embedded in the paradigm and harmonizes the interface of the various program process owners.

The main implementers of the convergence strategy are the City/ Municipal Action Teams (C/MATs), which composes of Municipal Links Project Development officers and the Area Coordinator. They are task to enhance and strengthen the convergence operations in every municipality with the end result of contributing to the Department’s over- all mission and vision of achieving a more tangible and sustainable interventions to address socio- economic inequities.

To improve the objective of improving and strengthen the leadership capacities of the C/MAT and proper work values, attitudes, the Ateneo de Naga University through a Memorandum of Agreement with the DSWD expressed its willingness to partner with the DSWD to train the C/MAT using the Bridging Leadership Program with the following modules: Leadership Skills, Team Management, Partnership Building Network and Technical Writing.

About 114 members of the City/Municipal Action Teams will undergo the 15 days Bridging Leadership Program. This will be done at the AdeNU under the office of the center for Local Governance.

While the academe is in- charge of the capability building activities, the DSWD will provide the corresponding fees to the school for the service provided. Likewise the trainees shall be provided with perdiem and travelling expenses for the whole duration of the training.
