The Regional Federation of Persons with Disabilities (RFPWD) held its first semester meeting in Legazpi City, headed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Bicol.

Key topics discussed during the meeting included the accomplishments for the first half of 2024, addressing organizational issues, and discussing important matters affecting the PWD sector.

Ms. Irah Jeanne Ego, DSWD FO5-PWD Regional Focal Person, presented the 2024 accomplishments of the PWD sector for the first semester, highlighting its key progress and initiatives.

Presentation regarding the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) on Philippine human rights was also outlined, along with the other plans for the fourth quarter of the year.

This includes the proposed Orientation and Presentation of Various Disabilities that aims to promote awareness in the community.

The meeting is an important step in addressing the needs and concerns of persons with disabilities in the region.
