The Department of Social Welfare and Development turned-over P14M in Tinambac, Camarines Sur for the Core Shelter Assistance Program (CSAP).
The 200 checks with an amount of P70, 000 each was hand-over by Ms. Maritess Quismorio, the DSWD’s regional CSAP coordinator to the 200 family beneficiaries. Ms. Quismorio was assisted by Tinambac Mayor Ruel Velarde and Vice Mayor Jun Barrion. The CSAP recipients are from the barangays of Antipolo, Bulao, Balite, Bangi, Cagliliog, Magtang, Sugod, Bataan, Tierra Nevada, Olag Pegueño, Canayunan and Lupi.
In his message, Mayor Velarde enjoined the cooperation and support of the beneficiaries for the completion of the shelter units. “Tabangan nindo ang saindong sadiri na matapos ang proyekto.” The completion of the project is also your way of helping, Mrs. Nilda Evalla, the MSWDO who have worked hard to have this program realized.
Recipients of the CSAP used to live in areas prone to flooding and in places that are often hit by calamities.
CSAP is a rehabilitation program which provides structurally strong shelter units that can withstand 180.220kph wind velocity to families whose houses were totally destroyed by natural and man-made calamities who have no capacity to build or construct their own units.
The project aims to reduce the number of homeless families by providing a structurally strong shelter and at the same time develop and promote the value of self-reliance among the beneficiary and the community.
The site is the LGU’s counterpart and the payment for the foreman. The project implementation shall be supervised by the Municipal Engineer.
Meanwhile, the Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau issues a certification that the location of the project is safe before the start of its implementation. ###eejerusalem
