The Department of Social Welfare and Development will release the updated database of poor households on June 22 at the Hotel St. Ellis, Legazpi City.
The new database was the result of the household assessment conducted by the Listahanan in 2015.
This covered all rural and urban areas in the 6 provinces, 107 municipalities, 7 cities and 3,471 barangays of the region.
Listahanan formerly known as the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are.
It makes available to various social protection stakeholders to have relevant basis for identifying the right beneficiaries.
According to Director Arnel Garcia, the highlight of the event is the presentation of the current profile of poor households in the Bicol Region.
A presentation on the innovations applied in the 2015 Listahanan assessment will also be presented as well as the methodology and models used in identifying the poor.
Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary and Director of Information Management Bureau of the Central Office Noel M. Macalalad will grace the event.
Participants for the said launching will be the local government units, government agencies, non-government organizations, academe, and the media. ###
