Five SLPAs received livelihood projects from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
Five Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) from Brgy. Colasi, Mercedes, Camarines Norte, received a total amount of P1,028,000.00 of livelihood fund through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) last February 26, 2020.
The table below shows the SLPAs who received the funds according to their chosen livelihood:

The projects were funded thru the Microenterprise Development track-Seed Capital Fund modality (MD-SCF) of SLP, under the 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
The turnover of livelihood projects was attended by SLP-DSWD employees, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) /Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) Representatives of Mercedes and program participants.
SLP is a community-based capacity building program that aims to improve the socioeconomic condition of the participants. It facilitates interventions that expand the existing livelihood assets (human, social, physical, natural, and financial capital) of the participants so they may either have gainful employment or establish their chosen micro-enterprise.
MD Track focuses on starting, expanding or rehabilitating micro-enterprises, activities. This track includes entrepreneurship, technical – vocational and soft skills training.
“Lubos kaming nagpapasalamat dahil sa naibigay sa amin na kabuhayan na siguradong patuloy na makatulong sa aming mga pamilya. (We are very thankful for giving us livelihood that will sustainably help our family.), Sabang Fisherfolk SLP Association Treasurer, Marivic Babagay said.
“Pinapangako ko at ng aking mga ka-grupo na gagawin naming ang lahat upang ito ay lumago at nangangakong susunod sa mga patakaran ng SLP. (We promise that we will do our best to make our business successful. We will strictly follow the rules stated in our group constitution and bylaws),” she added.
Moreover, SCF is a grant given to eligible SLP participants to finance the initial operations of their enterprise/s. It provides the participants with financial capital to be able to establish and manage their sustainable microenterprise/s, which should provide a stable source of income.
