Legazpi City—Dir. Arnel Garcia called for an emergency meeting with the heads of offices in preparation for the expected increase of affected families as alert level 4 for Mayon was hoisted early this afternoon.

Dir. Garcia assured the public that the agency is ready to help local government units (LGUs) with the provision of humanitarian relief assistance.

DSWD Region V will request 39,000 family food packs (FFPs) today as the supplement to the previous request of 30,000 FFPs last week from the National office. To date, the National Office has a partial delivery of 9,500 FFPs to the Regional Office. There is an available stock of 5,962 FFPs that were procured and repacked by the Regional Office. In total, the available stock of FFPs at the DSWD Regional Office is 15,462.

Moreover, the regional office has already provided a total of the PhP16,221,024.77 worth of assistance to Albay.

The Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will continuously monitor the conditions of the affected families. The QRT at the Regional Office will report in two shifts: 8:00am-5: 00 pm, 4:00pm-11: 00 pm, to generate and validate disaster reports from different affected areas of Mayon eruption.
