Legazpi City— In line with its efforts to ensure that the real poor are selected, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 5 activated the text hotline for Listahanan.

“The text hotline will serve as a venue where queries, clarifications and complaints on the implementation of the program are being addressed. “explained DSWD Regional Director Arnel Garcia.

The text hotline will be manned by DSWD staff and will be available on weekdays from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.

Aside from the text hotline, Garcia said that they also entertain queries on their official Facebook fan page and email address. “This is to provide quality and efficient service to our constituents.” Garcia said.

This 2014, Listahanan is set to conduct the 2^nd round of household assessment.  House to house interviews are to be conducted by the enumerators to update the database of poor households.  

It can be recalled that DSWD conducted the first assessment in 2009 where 461, 242 poor households were identified in Bicol region out of 775, 014 households assessed region wide. 

Listahanan is an information management system that aims to establish a database of poor households that will become beneficiaries of social protection programs.##
