The Bicol Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines, Inc. (BFSCAP Inc.) successfully held its 3rd Quarter Meeting on September 27, 2024, in Legazpi City.

The event was organized with the support of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Bicol, and facilitated by the Regional Older Persons Focal Person, Ms. Irah Jeanne B. Ego. The meeting was attended by city and provincial federation heads from across the Bicol Region.

Key resolutions aimed at enhancing the welfare and support for senior citizens in the region were deliberated and approved, including a resolution to open a bank account for the association to improve the management of funds and resources for future projects.

Other critical topics discussed included updates on current programs, services, and upcoming initiatives for the older persons sector. Federation leaders from various cities and provinces also presented their accomplishments, showcasing the progress made in their respective areas.

Assistant Regional Director for Administration, Mr. Raul A. Enojas, highlighted the significant role that BFSCAP Inc. plays in the development and implementation of programs and services for senior citizens. He also emphasized the importance of the federation’s active participation in shaping policies that benefit the elderly population.

This meeting reaffirmed DSWD’s commitment to improving the lives of senior citizens in the Bicol Region. The collaboration between DSWD and organizations like BFSCAP Inc. ensures that the older persons sector is included in decision-making processes and that support systems for their needs are continuously strengthened.
