The Department of Social Welfare and Development in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints (CJCLDS) recently celebrates family week in Legazpi City.

This year’s celebration is anchored with the theme “Unity Across Generations: A Strong Family, A Strong Society” underscores the importance of strengthening the families, bringing all social groups specifically, the vulnerable, and individuals into political, social, cultural and economic structures of society so they can participate in decision making process and to improve their access to opportunities .

Present in the activity are Dir. Anel B. Garcia of DSWD Region 5, City Mayor Noel E. Rosal, Legazpi Stake President Giovanni Pangan of CJCLDS.

According to Dir. Garcia the family week celebration is an opportunity to value the importance of strong family ties.

The week-long celebration also includes the following activities: Fun walk and hataw participated by representatives coming National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Department of Agriculture, Southern Luzon Mission, Philippine National Police, CJCLDS and DSWD staff; radio guesting; parents forum in partnership with Bicol University, Population Commission and Department of Health providing information about their respective programs and extending their support services to families.***G.
