The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 5 continues its recruitment for Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), the country’s information system that identifies who and where the poor are nationwide.

Interviews of applicants are conducted in six provincial offices of the department every Friday.

The field office started its manpower pooling last 2013 to fill in 3,450 workers comprised of 91 Area Coordinators, 453 Area Supervisors, 2266 Enumerators, and 640 Encoders.

We still have more than 3,000 remaining applicants for interview. This is out of 7167 applications received.”  said Ciriaco B. Abejuro Jr, Listahanan Regional Focal Person.

Furthermore, screening of applicants for Encoder/Verifier positions will be processed as soon as enumeration started.

We will shortlist once we finished interviewing all applicants. For the applicants please just wait for the advice from our HR unit. We will also give updates on our website and to the official facebook fan page as to when the enumeration will commence. “ Abejuro ended.

The second time around

Listahanan is set to conduct the 2nd round of household assessment this 2014 to update the list of poor families in the region.

It may be recalled that DSWD 5 conducted the first assessment in 2009 where 775, 014 households were assessed resulting in the identification of 461,242 as poor using the Proxy Means Test (PMT), a statistical model that estimates family income based on observable and  verifiable indicators.

For this year’s assessment, DSWD will cover 1.08 million households covering the whole Bicol region. ###
