The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 5 (DSWD FO 5), through its Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) and Municipal SWAD Action teams, provided relief assistance worth PHP 67,605.04 on Sunday, June 2, 2024, to eight families affected by separate fire incidents in Camarines Sur.
Eight residential houses were completely burned down, affecting eight families due to separate fire incidents in the municipalities of Sagñay, Tigaon, Goa, Tinambac, Baao, and Naga City in the Province of Camarines Sur.
DRMD Division Chief Claudio Villareal Jr. personally delivered the relief assistance to the affected families who were temporarily seeking refuge with their relatives and in makeshift shelters they constructed.
Each family received two Family Food Packs (FFPs) containing 6 kilograms of rice, 10 canned goods, 5 sachets of coffee, and 5 sachets of cereal drink, enough to sustain a family of 5 for 2 days.
They also received non-food relief items including Sleeping Kits, Family Kits, Hygiene Kits, Kitchen Kits, and 10-meter laminated sacks.
Aside from this relief assistance, the affected families will also receive financial assistance worth PHP 10,000.00 through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the department.
