DSWD Bicol Sustainable Livelihood Program personnel assists buyers during the ALUNSINA SLP Convention and Bazaar in Risen Garden, Quezon City.

QUEZON CITY – The two-day ALUNSINA Convention and Bazaar, organized by the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), concluded on a high note at the Risen Garden, Quezon City Hall. The event showcased a variety of products created by SLP participants and associations, with DSWD Bicol’s booth alone generating PHP 32,000 in sales.

The bazaar aimed to offer a platform for SLP beneficiaries to display their locally produced goods, including food items, handicrafts, and other non-food products. Despite the half-day suspension of classes and work in the National Capital Region (NCR) on August 28, the event enjoyed strong community support and participation.

Prior to the official closing, DSWD Bicol hosted a live selling activity on its official Facebook page, which engaged a broader audience and boosted sales by nearly PHP 4,000. This innovative approach enhanced product visibility and highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of the SLP beneficiaries.

The event attracted interest from potential buyers beyond the region, including those from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and NCR. Several buyers expressed interest in bulk orders and requested contact details of program participants for future transactions.

The success of the ALUNSINA SLP Convention and Bazaar underscores the impact of the Sustainable Livelihood Program in empowering local communities through entrepreneurship. By providing a platform for SLP participants to showcase and sell their products, the event contributed to the beneficiaries’ economic growth and strengthened community connections.

As the event concluded, organizers and participants celebrated its success and looked forward to future opportunities to support and promote sustainable livelihoods across the region.#
