Field Validation

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V thru the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is currently conducting 2015 Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya regionwide.

The contest aims to recognize family beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya who maintain strong ties, demonstrate Filipino values and have a positive impact in the community where they reside.

Seven families will be competing for the Regional Search.

These Families are De La Cruz family of Barangay Bariw, Bacacay, Albay, Canon family of Barangay Palanas, Pilar, Sorsogon, Agot family of Barangay Santo Domingo, Vinzons, Camarines Norte, Belgica family of Barangay Mansalaya, Del Gallego, Trio family of Naga City, Caparoso family of Barangay Tubog, Cawayan, Masbate and Toledo family of Barangay Biong, Gigmoto, Catanduanes.

Said families are the winners during the 2015 Provincial Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya which was conducted last May of this year.

They passed through the eligibility criteria which are beneficiary family of the Program for at least two years, a family who has good standing in the community with no derogatory records and has not been convicted of any administrative, criminal, civil case or cases involving moral turpitude in the last five years, a family whose income is not derived from gambling, prostitution, child labor, extortion and other similar illegal resources and a family with 100% compliance in all conditions of the program.

Currently, the Field Office is conducting a field validation of the said seven entries through visiting the families in their house/community in order to ensure that the data included in the documentation are correct and truthful and to acquire information that was not captured in the submitted document/evidences. An interview with the families, neighbors, local government units is also being conducted during validation.

For the 2015 Bicol Region Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya, the criteria are based on field validation and final deliberation.

Under field validation, the nominated families will be assessed through their character which is (25%), communication (25%), leadership/participation in community activities (25%) and insights who is family beneficiary that can able to define what a huwarang pantawid pamilya is (25%).

While for final deliberation, the family will be judged according to the following: A family that maintains strong ties and harmonious relationship and upholds Filipino values despite the challenges that poverty causes/brings which is (25%), a family that practices and promotes healthy living and taking care of the environment (20%), A family that is actively involved in community activities (20%), A family who inspires other members of the community (20%) and a family who strives to improve living condition amidst difficult situation (15%).

Among the seven contenders three winners will be awarded and will receive a plaque and cash prizes. For the second runner-up, the winner will receive a cash prize of P5,000, first runner-up will receive P8,000 and the Bicol Region Huwaran Pantawid Pamilya winner will receive P10,000. The winners will also have the opportunity to tour around Legazpi City.

More so, they (winners) will be awarded on September to coincide with the family week celebration.

According to Regional Director Arnel B. Garcia, this competition is a way of giving honor to exemplary family beneficiaries who demonstrated love, respect, unity and togetherness through meaningful activities and service not only within the family but spread throughout the community and who was able to strive to improve their living condition amidst difficult situation.

Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino is a national government’s program under DSWD that invests in human capital that is contributory to poverty-reduction.
