LEGAZPI CITY – After being halted for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Bicol Region (DSWD FO V) through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has once again recognized its exemplary beneficiaries through the Search for 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child which was conducted on September 14 2023 at the LCC Event Center 2, Legazpi City, Albay.
This year, the family of Jennie Alberto Azor from Barangay New San Roque, Pili, Camarines Sur emerged victorious and was named ‘Huwarang Pamilya’ in the Bicol region while Ram James Angelito Ramos from Brgy. Guinacutan, Vinzons, Camarines Norte, was named the 4Ps Exemplary Child.
Mrs. Minda Refugio Serrado and her family from Naga City, were second placers, while Marilou Nate Orfano’s Family from Guinobatan, Albay won third.
For Exemplary Children, Joros P. Vargas from Brgy. Danicop, Virac Catanduanes, and Christine Shaine B. Anos from Brgy. Nabonton, Ligao City. Albay got the second and third places, respectively.The 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child Grand winners received cash prizes and plaques. They will serve as ambassadors of the program in the Bicol Region.
The search for 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Children, now in its eighth year, is held annually as a platform to highlight the success stories of family and children-beneficiaries who maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values in their household, and school, and have positive impact in the community.
The family of Jennie Azor and Exemplary child Ram James Ranmos will represent the region in the National Huwarang Pamilya Recognition and National Children’s Congress slated in October and November this year.
