Albay, Bicol Region — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
Field Office V – Bicol Region successfully carried out food distribution under the Walang
Gutom Program across 18 municipalities in Albay, benefiting a total of 6,300 individuals
from January 17 to 24, 2025.

This initiative underscores the agency’s ongoing commitment to alleviating hunger and
ensuring access to nutritious food for the most vulnerable sectors of society. It is an
essential part of fostering the development of socially responsible citizens.
The food packages distributed as part of this program are carefully designed to promote
balanced, nutritious diets. Each package contains a mix of Go, Grow, and Glow foods,
with an emphasis on healthy eating. The contents include a 25-kilogram sack of rice, a
tray of eggs, two kilograms of chicken, vegetables, and fruits, all valued at PHP 3,000 per
pack. These items can be accessed via Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Cards. This
curated selection not only meets the dietary needs of beneficiaries but also encourages
healthier eating habits.

The program’s recipients include families from the Listahanan 3 Poor Households
database, as well as Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Solo Parents, and Senior Citizens.
