DSWD SLP Masbate Program Management Office distributes livelihood grants to SLP Participants in Aroroy and Uson.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V is making strides in community development through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). Recently, significant livelihood grants were awarded to residents in the municipalities of Aroroy and Uson, Masbate.

 

On July 23, Uson received PHP 2,730,000 in livelihood assistance, benefiting 182 program participants. Just two days later, on July 25, Aroroy saw a grant of PHP 2,055,000 allocated to 139 individuals.

 

In total, 321 Masbateños were supported, each receiving PHP 15,000 to bolster their entrepreneurial efforts and enhance their economic conditions.

 

 

The DSWD’s SLP aims to empower disadvantaged individuals and families by equipping them with the resources and training needed to build sustainable sources of income. The program focuses on capacity-building and resource allocation, fostering resilient communities that can navigate economic challenges.

 

Regional Director Norman S. Laurio of DSWD Field Office V highlighted the Department’s overarching goal: to provide not just financial support but also hope and a pathway to a better future through the SLP.

 

“These recent grants in Aroroy and Uson underscore our commitment to improving livelihood opportunities for the people of Masbate,” RD Laurio stated.
