Legazpi City, Albay – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office V (DSWD FO 5) concluded the weeklong celebration of the agency’s 71st anniversary on April 1, 2022. The event was attended by the agency’s executives from the Central Office and other Field Offices, representatives of partner organizations, and other stakeholders. This was the first of FO 5 to hosts a week-long anniversary celebration, packed with various activities for its employees.
The activity recognized exemplary employees, divisions, project beneficiaries, and partner organizations. According to the awardees, the award helped boost their morale and inspired them to give more and bring the agency’s services to greater heights.
Aside from recognizing its employees and stakeholders, the event also highlighted strengthening of partnership between DSWD and KAAKIBAT CIVICOM, a Civil Society Organization, through a Memorandum of Agreement as part of the agency’s volunteer management. KAAKIBAT CIVICOM serves as volunteers during the agency’s preparedness for response particularly repacking of Family Food Packs.
During the event, DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista personally handed the signed Appointments to Director III, Arwin O. Razo, now the full-fledged Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO), and Director IV Leo L. Quintilla, CESE, Regional Director.
This year’s theme, “DSWD @71: Napapanahon na pagtugon sa Suliranin ng Taong 2022; Kabalikat ng Katatagan ng Bawat Pilipino” highlighted the agency’s services in response to the pandemic. The celebration honored the employees and stakeholders who have worked to deliver the social services adaptive to the needs of program beneficiaries in this time of pandemic. The celebration was also an avenue to showcase the employees’ artistic side and foster camaraderie among the Divisions and the whole agency as well.
