The Department of Social Welfare and Development, through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, distributed Php 3,015,000.00 worth of livelihood grants to 201 program participants today, April 5, at the DSWD Satellite Office in Irosin, Sorsogon.

Each of them received Php 15,000.00 intended for their livelihood, may it be for the already existing or for the establishment of a new one.

With the 5-Year Livelihood Sustainability Plan where the new Sustainable Livelihood Program is anchored, only SLP Associations will stay with the program for the whole 5 years. For individual participants, they are given the chance to become eligible for livelihood incentives that associations may receive should they organize into associations.

SLP’s 5-Year Livelihood Sustainability Plan is the program’s response to the need to improve the implementation process and timeline while strengthening the sequence of capability building activities and interventions to ensure capacitation of program participants occur throughout the stages of program implementation.

This Livelihood Sustainability Plan features improved cost parameters for SLP interventions, and new capability building interventions and livelihood incentives to support livelihood development and association development and management throughout the 5-year long program cycle.
