Based on the latest DROMIC report submitted on May 27, 2024, a total of PHP1,024,903.50 worth of humanitarian aid provided by DSWD to the stranded passengers at various ports across the region.

These assistance efforts include Family Food Packs (FFPs) contents being cooked to provide hot meals to the stranded passengers.

In Tabaco Port, in Albay, the agency was able to provide PHP 34,932 worth of food assistance to 381 stranded individuals.

PHP 5,680.00 worth of hot meals was provided to 48 individuals in Pasacao Port in Camarines Sur.

4,102 stranded individuals in Bulan, Matnog, and Pilar Ports in Sorsogon were also provided food assistance worth PHP 750,000.00.

The agency was also able to provide 727 pcs of malong to the affected individuals, amounting to PHP 181,750 in Pio Duran, Albay.

The affected Local Government Units (LGUs) also provided a total of PHP 479,000.00 worth of assistance to the stranded population and affected families in their areas.

Field Office 5 continues to provide hot meals to stranded passengers at Tabaco City port in Albay Province on Sunday, (May 26, 2024).

The distribution of this assistance is facilitated by the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) and the Municipal SWAD Action Team, who have been continuously monitoring the status of the stranded passengers since Friday.

According to DOST-PAGASA Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 24, Tropical Storm “Aghon” has slightly intensified over the Philippine Sea east of Aurora.

The center of the eye of Typhoon “Aghon” was estimated, based on all available data including those from Baler, Tagaytay, and Daet Doppler Weather Radars, to be 105 km east of Baler, Aurora.

In the Bicol Region, Signal No. 1 still prevails only in the western portion of Camarines Norte (Santa Elena, Vinzons, Labo, Capalonga, Paracale, Talisay, Jose Panganiban, San Vicente, Daet), including the Calaguas Islands.

As of today, all sea trips from all ports in the region have resumed. No stranded passengers are recorded as of this press time.

13 internally displaced families in Barangay Sta. Rosa Del Sur, Pasacao received FFPs from the agency. These families were preemptively evacuated due to the high risk of landslides in their area.

According to the report, there were also 62 total number of families preemptively evacuated due to possible landslides, storm surges, and floods in Barangays San Cirilo, Balogo, and Odicon in Pasacao on Saturday (May 25, 2024). These IDPs have already returned home earlier today.

The agency was able to provide PHP 52,540.00 worth of assistance to these families.

To date, overall humanitarian assistance provided by the agency and local government units amounted to PHP1,503,902.50.

DSWD Bicol is actively coordinating with local government units (LGUs) to oversee the situation, evaluate the status of internally displaced persons, and identify situations in need of relief augmentation.###
