Daet, Camarines Norte – SM Daet donates toys through the DSWD Field Office V’s Donation Drive for TY Odette victims

receive four (4) boxes of donated toys from SM Daet last 14 January 2022 through the
donation drive organized by DSWD Field Office V for the victims of Super Typhoon
(STY) Odette. The Share-a-Toy Campaign under the SM Share Movement and The SM
Store was conducted from 01 November 2021 and to 31 December 2021 wherein a PhP
100.00 discount voucher was given for every toy donated.

Hardly-hit areas of STY Odette include the provinces of Surigao del Norte, Dinagat
Islands, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Palawan, This disaster
happened a week before Christmas, amid the pandemic crisis.

DSWD Field Office V Relief Augmentation and Donation Drive

A total of 11,500 Family Food Packs (FFPs) amounting to PhP 7,244,208.00 were
provided by DSWD Field Office V as relief augmentation to the affected families of STY
Odette in Region VIII. These FFPs were distributed in the areas of Hinunungan,
Hilongos, Saint Bernard, Maasin, San Francisco, Pintuyan, Macrohon, and Tomas
Oppus.

DSWD Field Office V also initiated a Donation Drive from 03 January 2022 to 31
January 2022 with the theme: “Sharing is Caring para sa mga Kapwa nating Pilipino na
Biktima ng Typhoon Odette sa Region VIII”. The Donation Drive was open for internal
and external donors with big hearts to share and help the victims of STY Odette. The
Field Office’s Quick Response Teams (QRT) – Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta manned the donation booths. True to its mandate, DSWD Field Office V upholds the
Department’s core value of Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo (Punctual and
Compassionate Service).

Based on the initial count, a total of 115 boxes of face mask, 721 water bottles, 108
bottles of alcohol and 18 boxes of canned goods (e.g., sardines, corned beef, and meat
loaf) have been donated. These donations were transported to Region VIII on the first
week of February 2022.

Indeed, unity in times of crises strengthens resilience and sparks hope for every Filipino.
