DSWD FOV Regional Director Norman S. Laurio shares his words of gratitude to partner hospital for the continued support to AICS Program during the CIS-AICS Partnership Meeting.

Fostering collaboration and setting the stage for mutual success, the Crisis Intervention Section, as the implementing section of the frontline programs of the agency, AICS Program and the Malasakit Center, held a partnership meeting on December 12, 2023 at the Fiesta Ballroom, Legazpi City.

The meeting brought together various partner hospitals in the region that accepts medical assistance through guarantee letters.

A Guarantee Letter popularly known as GL, is a document issued by the DSWD in favor of the beneficiary, addressed to service providers, to guarantee the approved amount for payment of the service on behalf of the beneficiary under the DSWD AICS.

In the Bicol Region, a total of 9,130 clients were served for Medical Assistance through Guarantee Letters with a total amount of PHP 548,264,080.04 paid to this field office’s service providers as of December 7, 2023.

During the significant gathering, DSWD FO V Regional Director Norman Laurio expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm and commitment of partner stakeholders in supporting the clients in crisis but most especially the vulnerable and the marginalized individuals in most need of assistance. He also tackled issues and concerns to further enhance the partnership in ensuring excellent service to the needy.

DSWD FO V has already forged partnerships with a total of thirty-six (36) hospitals to accept guarantee letters from the agency.

The AICS program is one of the social welfare services of the DSWD that provides medical, burial, transportation, education, food, or financial assistance for other support services or needs of a person or family in crisis.#
