SLP personnel distributes livelihood grant to a program participant.

Since December 21, 2023, the DSWD Field Office V’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) has distributed Php 14,227,996.50 worth of livelihood grants to 1,122 eligible SLP program participants all over the Bicol Region as of December 31, 2023.

The 1,122 program participants consist of members of SLP-organized SLP Associations and individual participants.

Distribution of the livelihood grants commenced after the validation of the participants’ eligibility to the program, orientation and preparation for their participation in the program, and preparation and approval of their proposed livelihood projects.

SLP-organized SLP Associations receive their livelihood grants through checks where they will deposit the grant to their association’s bank account.

The livelihood grants provided by the Sustainable Livelihood Program are for the establishment or continuation of the program participants’ proposed or existing livelihoods. With the receipt of their livelihood grants, the program participants may now proceed with their livelihood project implementation and their receiving of the livelihood grant marks the end of their participation in the program’s Year 1 of the 5-year Livelihood Sustainability Plan and the start of their participation in Year 2.

With the new program guidelines of the Sustainable Livelihood Program, program participants will be supported by the program for a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years, guided by the program’s Livelihood Sustainability Plan; their graduation from the program will be on the fifth and last year in the program, granted they produce positive accomplishments throughout their engagement with the program in terms of the program’s sustainability indicators such as positive net income and savings, independent and sustainable organization of their SLP Association, and employment generated.
