The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office V Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is currently conducting training for Municipal Links dubbed as Gender Sensitivity cum Introduction to Gender Analysis Training for City/Municipal Links.

The training aims to increase the level of awareness of staff on basic gender concepts and related issues which greatly affect their relationship between and among the partner beneficiaries and the community. It also aims to strengthen the working relationship with the clientele, co-staff and partner government and private agencies in improving the delivery of social services

It is a two-day activity which is conducted in five batches for selected municipal or city links from various provinces of Bicol. It started last first week and will end on last week of December.

Said training includes workshops, discussion, audio-visual analysis and lectures. Some of lectures are gender in workplace, gender fair language, discussion on lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender, vision on a gender fair society and Gender and Developent and the Millenium Development Goals, gender mainstreaming, governance rights based approach and governance and gender perspective in Disaster Risk Reduction Management.

Rosalie Mapa, gender and  development focal person, said that at the end of the training the participants are expected to come up with gender action plan based on the identified issues in their assigned areas.***G.Lindio, IO-Pantawid
