The 2014 winners of the search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya in Naga City and Camarines Sur were vested during the simple awarding ceremony held at Starview  Hotel, Naga City recently.

In Naga City, the Malasa family of Barangay Balatas is the 2014 Huwarangg Pantawid Pamilya of Naga City, followed by the Braga family of Brgy Panicuason and the third prize winner  is the Palibino family of Barangay Panicuason.  Naga City Mayor John Bongat, City Kagawad Nene de Asis and CSWDO Jim Reblando graced the affair. In his message, Mayor Bongat shared that the search has been institutionalized in Naga City in order to advocate that being poor is not a hindrance to have a happy and wholesome family. The search will be part of the celebration of the family week which is every third week of September of every year.

The search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya is an annual search conducted by the DSWD.

For the provincial search, Camarines Sur Governor Miguel “Migz” Villafuerte and Buhi Mayor Rey Lacoste led the awarding ceremony. The winners are:  the Victoria family of San Francisco, Buhi, Camarines Sur as the provincial winner. They are also this year’s regional winner and the Bicol’s bet to the national search. The second prize is the Benosa family family a member of the Tabangnon tribe of San Francisco, Iriga City and the third prize winner is the Camalla family from Bombon, Camarines Norte.

Buhi Mayor Rey Lacoste was so happy yet emotional when he gave his message. According to Mayor Lacoste he is so proud and honored for having Buhi a two time winner for this search and this year’s participant to the national contest. He bared that getting the top prize for two years is a manifestation of a dedicated and efficient implementation of the program and the full support of the Local Government Unit. To compensate the hard work of the Pantawid  Pamilya staff , the mayor committed to provide a bigger office space for the staff.” Let us all keep our fingers crossed that the grand winner for this year’s national competition will be from Bicol, the Victoria family,” he claimed.

Meanwhile, in Camarines Sur Governor Miguel “Migz” Villafuerte extended his congratulations not only to the winners but also to the Pantawid Pamilya implementers. “ “I am supportive of the DSWD programs and projects”, the governor said.”. We will aim to get it to the top for the national search. Everything will be possible if we are one. Let us all join hands to have a change for the better and change for development.”

The winners received a cash prize of 5, 000, 3,000 and 1,000 for the first, second and third prize respectively. A certificate of recognition was awarded to all the winners.  # # # #eejerusalem
