Camarines Sur– The National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) 5 of the Department of Social Welfare and Development conducted the 3-day training for Enumerators on April 28-30, 2014 at Regal Plaza Hotel in Camarines Sur Province.

The said training is in preparation to the conduct of special validation for Social Pension and Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) this quarter.

“For this special validation, Region 5 will cover 10, 643 social pensioners and 472 MCCT beneficiaries all over the region”DSWD Regional Director Arnel Garcia said.

“Rigorous trainings will equip the staff in the effective conduct of assessment. These include guidelines, systems and actual implementation” he added.

A total of 66 staff will be deployed region wide for the special assessment.

Same training for the area supervisors was already conducted last April 26-27 at Sarung Banggui Resort, Sto. Domingo Albay.

Social Pension is one of the social protection programs of DSWD that grants P500 monthly stipend to indigent senior citizen.

Meanwhile, MCCT Program provides cash to street families, displaced families, nomadic indigenous peoples (IPs), and to those living in isolated and disadvantaged areas on the condition that they send their children to school and regular health check-ups.###
