The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Bicol held the Media Forum 2024 in Masbate, with participation from media practitioners across the province.

The event showcased the regional and provincial achievements of the Department.

During the forum, DSWD Bicol’s Regional Director Norman S. Laurio presented the CY 2024 accomplishments, detailing the disbursed amounts and the number of beneficiaries served by each program.

He also announced upcoming DSWD pay-outs under the newly launched Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) and Project LAWA at BINHI.

A key highlight was the Pantawid Program, featuring testimonials from two successful 4Ps beneficiaries who attended the forum.

The event also underscored the critical role of the media in informing the public about government programs and services.

Regional Director Laurio emphasized, “As media practitioners, you play a crucial role in monitoring the implementation of these programs, ensuring that the community is genuinely empowered.” He encouraged the attending broadcast journalists to continue partnering with DSWD Bicol in communication efforts.
