The provincial government of Camarines Norte has launched recently the Partnership against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) held at Sto. Domingo, Vinzons, Camarines Norte. The pilot implementation covers the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte, Castilla Sorsogon and 3rd Congressional District of Camarines Sur.

As explained by DSWD Director Arnel Garcia, the Partnership against Hunger and Poverty is a holistic approach to alleviate the poor household from hunger and poverty. It is also as strategic measure to bring together the programs of government that are focused on the provision of essential services directly benefitting the poorer sector in the rural areas.

The PAHP also addresses the issues on inequity in land ownership, rural employment and underemployment continue to perpetuate the incidence of poverty and the increasing number of hungry rural households. Its primordial goal is to eliminate hunger, food security, and reduce poverty.

The PAHP is in partnership and collaboration between the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform and the Local Government Units with their respective functions as follows:

Department of Agriculture: Provision of production of inputs
Provision of equipments and facilities
Good crop production practices
Department of Agrarian Reform:
Agri-enterprise development
Community-devices development

The PAHP launching was highlighted by the blessing and inauguration of the Camarines Norte Agri-Pinoy Trading Center with the DA Secretary Proceso Alcala, World Food Program Food Security Head Mr. Dipayan Battacharyya,  DAR Secretary Virgilio Reyes, and Dir. Arnel Garcia who represented DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman.###eejerusalem
