Legazpi City – The Regional Inter-Agency Committee (RIAC) and Regional Juvenile Justice Welfare Committee (RJJWC) Bicol encouraged amateur video creators either individuals or groups including students enrolled in any schools, universities or colleges to join the video advertisement contest.

According to Ana Marie Binamira, Regional Committee/Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RCSCWC) Technical Staff, the video advertisement contest is in line with the celebration of National Children’s Month.

The RIAC/RJJWC Bicol Video Advertisement Contest aims to raise public awareness on child protection programs of different National Government Agencies (NGAs) or issues about children through the video advertisements produced by amateur filmmakers.

Qualified videos will be judged according to the clarity of message (50%), style and creativity (30%) and composition and originality (20%).

Five (5) video finalists will be selected for the final judging.

These top five finalists will be evaluated according to story and structure of the advertisement (30%), message clarity (30%), production quality of the video (20%) and overall impression of the video advertisement (20%) to determine the grand winner of the video advertisement contest.

The grand winner will receive P20,000.00. On the other hand, the 1st placer and 2nd placer will take home P15,000.00 and P10,000.00 respectively.

The video contest will also give special prizes for People’s Choice Award, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress.

As based on the contest guidelines, filmmakers should be a Bicolano or Bicolana by birth or by blood and must be a resident of Bicol Region.

The contestants should not be affiliated with any broadcasting organization and have not won any national or international video contests.

Information officers of government agencies are also encouraged to submit video entries for the competition.

Binamira noted that the contest is open not only to youth but also to adult amateur filmmakers who want to showcase their talent in video making.

Participants may submit their video entries with fully-accomplished entry form, photocopy of ID and signed agreement to Ms. Ana Binamira, RSCWC Technical Staff of DSWD Field Office V Magnolia St., PBN, Buraguis, Legazpi City 4500 or rscwc.dswdfo5@gmail.com. The deadline for submission was extended until 11:59 PM, 15 November 2017.

The winners will be announced on November 24, 2017 through an awarding ceremony.
