Legazpi City- A delegation from World Bank and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFA) visited three barangays in Legazpi City for the 8th World Bank Implementation Support Mission on July 2-4, 2015.
The field visit aimed to generate ideas about how the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program implemented in Legazpi City given it’s a disaster prone area in Albay.
Moreover, to observe the on-going enumeration of the Listahanan which currently using android tablet as the mode of collecting data in the city.
During the courtesy call, Hon.Mayor Noel Rosal lauded the DSWD for the excellent implementation of the programs and services in the region and is grateful for the assistance extended to his locality.
The field monitoring team split into two groups who simultaneously had dialogues with the Parent leaders, City Links, principals & teachers, barangay health workers/officials in barangays Pawa, San Roque and Taysan.
“We are happy that our visitors gives time to see how their assisted projects are implemented and have first hand experience in the implementation of our programs in the region” said Assistant Regional Director for Operations Corazon B. Miña
The field monitoring team had a chance to observe the conduct of Family Development Session (FDS) to the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries and to the actual interview of Enumerators to the households in Taysan & Pawa.
Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program is a human development program of the national government that invests in the health and education of poor households, particularly of children aged 0-18 years old. Meanwhile, Listahanan is the DSWD’s information management system that identifies who and where the poor are.
The members of the field monitoring team comprises World Bank representatives namely: Ms.Aleksandra Posarac, Ms. Rashiel Velarde, Mr. Jorge Avalos, Mr. Motoky Hayakawa, Ms. Maria Loreto Padua, Mr. Rene Manuel, Ms. Ma.Liennefer Penaroyo,Mr.Nigel Bruce of DFAT, Ms.Jocelyn Nique, Anna Liz Bellen, Ma. Dinna Lynne Ordoña of NEDA 5, Dr. Anne Quizon of DepEd Central Office, Chrysalyn Gocatek, Engels Del Rosario, Corazon Adele Lavadia of Pantawid Pamilya National Project Management Office, Mike Mohen Padilla of DSWD Central Office Policy Development and Planning Bureau.
Aside from Legazpi City, they also visited Coron, Palawan as an island municipality for the implementation of the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilya and Listahanan.
World Bank is an international financial institution that provides loans to developing countries for capital programs. It has long been a major partner of DSWD in addressing poverty in the Philippines.##
